For Time Indaiatuba, season 53 was supposed to be a transitional year. The plan was to recharge the top form for every rider, enter just a few races, and then start scoring a lot of points after day 63 (in order to be able to sign up for the Germany Tour next season). We ended up inadvertently having our best ever year.
The season started slowly, without any racing for a number of weeks. We did a few practice races, but didn’t enter a competitive race until day 41, almost half way through the season. A result of either luck or skill (or both), we finished on the podium in almost every race. From 33 competitive races, we finished on the podium 20 times, only missing out on points 5 times.
New signing, Ingemann VesterÃ¥, won his first race and added a few more results as the team entered climbing races for the first time. 36 year-old Donald Minca proved he is worth keeping around by winning two races and finishing 2nd in two others. And Rubert Smidt, the only rider to score points for us in every single season since we started, won his only race as a captain this season, the Volta CiclÃstica do Iguaçu. We were very happy to finally win a race in our home country!
The star of the season was once again Hadley Childers, who is getting stronger every single year. He just missed out on the Perm Tour SC and the Rotterdam Tour classic (finishing 2nd in both). But he put in an amazing performance at the Nederlandse Tour to win our first ever GC jersey. He was on the podium for every single stage and finished the year with 1680 points, just 31 points short of the #1 ranking. He won’t lose any points next season until day 41 so he will definitely be ranked #1 soon.
The team is starting to look a little more Brazilian. We have a few younger riders who have been trained like Ciro Finati, Ariel Padilha, and CÃcero Maia, and have added some older Brazilian leadouts like Gaspar Altamirano, and Mário Zico. Gaspar is only 5 races away from becoming the Brazil NT’s most experienced rider.
Looking to the future, there is only one goal in our sights: the Germany Tour SC. We only need around 500 more points before day 63 to be guaranteed of a place, so before then we will be focusing on trying to win a division 1 race for the first time. Childers and some other riders will recharge their top form after Norwich-London.
This year we scored more points than ever before and also won more races and had more results too. After accidentally having our best ever season, it will be difficult to improve next year. But we will work hard to stay in division 1 and win some races. Is the top 10 possible? Who knows?

well done, indeed a really great season
and you are right "OCM Tour Rank: 1 st"
Hadley Childers is numero uno :)
Childers is a beast! - incredible that he is only 26 still.
Congrats, great season! Keep it up!
nice season and congrats on the NLe jersey!
@Navarone, I've worked out that I will lose 1050 points by day 63, meaning I only need 500 points before then to be in the top 30 (2200 points). So I should be fine.
Fantastic season, I can only hope my team's trajectory is the same as yours, but that's highly unlikely ;) Good luck next season!
Now I feel much better about convincing you to TT-center him after last season's Nederlandse flop :D great work this time around!
As an advice, will be hard to stay for GC because after day 41 you'll start bleeding points at a fast rate, while you will have been 40 days in Div. 1 with the associated hit taken in results and points. So be sure to start scoring from Day 1 if you want to be top30
You were absolutely amazing in NL Tour. Congratz on your great season!
